THE PUMPKIN ALE CHARACTERISTICS : It pours dark amber to orange, similar to the colour of roasted pumpkin. The flavour of the beer is slightly sweet, but the pumpkin flavour will then burst forth when left to simmer on the drinkers palette. The aroma of the pumpkin is quite intense. As the beer warms slightly more notes of pumpkin and Autumn spices emerge. It has very little aftertaste, but does leave a dry tingle afterwards. There is real pumpkin added into the mashing process, which is then added with the hops into the boil. PUMPKIN ALE by the numbers : ABV = 5.0% SRM = 9 IBU = 18
