Bold but welcoming, Avling IPA arrives with a firm handshake and a warm smile. Lush tropical aromas of orchards and citrus groves mesh seamlessly with notes of honey and biscuit, backed up by a sturdy but soft bitterness. And, after the final sip, the graceful finish of this expressive and agile IPA beckons for the next meeting.

Hard work deserves great rewards. Crisp, classic, and focused, our Pilsner packs enough punch to refresh and revitalize any day. This straw colored brew features bright flashes of fruit and spice supported by a graceful malt profile. A nimble bitterness arrives fashionably late, snapping the palate to attention, inviting another sip. Simple, but timeless.

Sometimes things are not quite as they seem! Nightfall is the color of a moonless evening, but a smooth and refreshing as your favorite lager. Dense and layered aromas of Toffee, pumpernickel, and a touch of Cocoa foreshadow the pallet that balances, rich flavors of coffee cake, and toasted hazelnuts with a crisp and refreshing body. A fantastic pairing for cold-weather dishes, like stews and roasts, or as a thirst quenching reward, after a rosy cheeked hike.

A great thing, a small package. Clean, refreshing, and succinct, Kinsman is Czech-inspired lager with a German inflection. It introduces itself quietly with elegant yeast and hop aromatics, before the powerful maltiness fills the palate with notes of biscuit and fresh baked bread. Assertively balanced, this small beer punches far above its weight.

Do you talk over a beer, or about it? Our Saison, charming yet elusive, doesn’t force you to choose. Sparkling and sleek, it asks little but is surprisingly complex. Hints of citrus zest, pear and black pepper hover over the pleasing acidity. It’s made to be savoured... or enjoyed with abandon.

Smoked Lavender Sour Inspired by ancient styles in the North of Germany, Selene is a beautiful fusion of floral and lightly smoked notes, with an amazingly refreshing acidity. Ontario Malt was hand-smoked in house by our brewing team, using a combination of local applewood, and lavender from our roof. Additional lavender from Toronto gardens was used late in the process to create the elegant aroma that dominates this beer.

Brewed and dry-hopped with Australian hops and lagered until crisp, Magpie Cold IPA is the best of both Avling's lager program and IPAs. Beautiful, punchy notes of berry, passionfruit, and sweet citrus define the aroma and palate, while the crisp focus of a cool fermentation makes Magpie an easy summer favourite.

Made with hundreds of marigolds from the Avling rooftop and orange wine skins from Trail Estate in PEC, Orpheus is a beer that’s 16 months in the making. Orpheus tastes like citrus and Springtime, the delicate floral aromas intertwining with the tangerine and marmalade notes. It has a subtle black pepper backbone, along with fine tannins that bring just enough bite and structure to the fluffy, elegant palate of the beer. It's tart, refreshing and light, and drinks like a beautiful natural orange wine.

Seeing is believing, and this shadow on the wall is a just a projection -- it's a hazy pale ale from Avling.Feeling a sense of calm after our first unbroken year of operations (finally!), we went and made a beer! we thought we never make. Shadow play features our favourite hops atop a simple base of malt and oats. Passion, kumquat and melon fly from the glass and crash onto the palate, while low bitterness and smooth acidity keep things bright and quenching. It's fluffy texture and full body support a rich and evolving tropical profile with apricot and yuzu notes arriving late. While we usually say less is more sometimes more is good too.

Discovered a new restaurant at Leslieville! Totally different from anything we've tried before. Fresh, fine and exquisite. Looking forward to coming back.

Outstanding brunch experience! The decor of the space is cheerful and bright. I was initially skeptical about the twist on Eggs Florentine with rainbow chard, but it exceeded all expectationsit was absolutely to die for! My friend had the Farmer's Breakfast and raved about it, calling it one of the best brunches she's ever had. Loved it! We'll be back again.

We attended Avling restaurant yesterday for dinner and drinks and this place is beyond cool. They grow their own vegetables, spices etc. on the roof and they brew their own drinks in the back brewing area , which were all amazing. The food was incredible. The staff goes all out to make you feel at home. Trish and Sam always had a smile and were very welcoming. Amazing experience I would recommend for everyone to go. Thank you for an amazing evening.

Great beers. We tried both IPAs, and they are really easy to drink. Cod Tongues and Stuffed Jalapeos are tasty. The service is super friendly. They source their own green from their rooftop and also have tours there. Curious to go.

Stopped in for Sunday brunch for the first time in a while, and was sadly not impressed. We ordered the smash burger and the fried chicken sandwich, along with a side of fries since the fried chicken sandwich doesn't come with anything on the side. The burger was quite good - great bun, nicely seasoned patty, generous amount of crispy bacon, and a very tasty secret sauce. Fries were also delicious, perfectly golden and crisp. However, the rest of the meal just didn't live up to expectations. When I asked for vinegar for my fries, it came out in a little metal ramekin rather than a proper bottle, making it difficult to properly sprinkle on my fries. And the fried chicken is inexplicably served between two slices of heavily toasted brioche, which makes it too thick to just pick up and eat, but also too awkward to eat with knife and fork. It's just a hot mess of a sandwich. The worst part of the meal, though? The side of plain fries cost $8. So be warned if you want fries, just order fancy fries they have on the menu that come topped with cheese and served with a side of aioli, since they cost exactly the same. Overall there's lots of room to improve. I know there have been some changes in the kitchen in recent months, hopefully the team can find their groove soon.
