3.6 on Untappd.Unlike most beers, there is no barley in Gold Rush. The grain bill largely consists of oat and wheat to create a full bodied beer with a silky mouthfeel and a touch of tang. We generously dry hopped this beer with some of our favourite hops, including Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, and the golden one itself, El Dorado. They're full of citrus notes, including grapefruit, lime, and lemon, and give the brew a tropical bitterness. 5 months agoI thought that stronghold actually had amazing beer. Everything we tried was very smooth and tasty. The only thing I can say is that I would love to have food with my beer. I know it's not always possible but thats just what I think. Amazing beer, keep it up.

a year agoFantastic beers served a beautiful old building with lovely woodwork. The staff were very prompt, cheerful and seemed very happy to be there. Would recommend stopping here for a some great beer!

a year agoStronghold is an excellent microbrewery with a good-size seating area. They have live music from time to time as well.

3 years agoMade a pitstop during a road trip to check out Stronghold. Walking in to the historic building, I was thrilled to see the elements of historical design. Ornate wood features, and a period piece bar perfectly matched the building exterior. I picked up some flights to check out their range. Overall, I'd say their beer is good. Not the best beer I've ever had, and the flavours are more traditional (deep, malty, earthy) instead of the newer trend of breweries leaning towards ultra fruity/tropical etc. The best part of the visit was the extremely large and cute outdoor patio. It was a great place to gather for a few beverages. I would definitely frequent this place if it were in my back yard.
