Very nice that they ask for any allergies as you sit down. The decor was fun and lively with a nature theme. They had many beers to choose from. The prices were slightly elevated compared to other places offering beer and burgers/pizzas. We both enjoyed our main courses although their pizza crust seemed very normal considering how special they tried to make it. I would visit here again.

While the food is good and I would give it four starts, I'm giving it overall five stars for just a great atmosphere. I'm writing this at end of September when they put little propane fires on tabletops (on the patio) and even though are table was tiny with it on, it's just such great ambiance. Our hotel was also looking directly at this restaurant and it was just so nice looking at the warm lights and the fire. I would love to come back and maybe try different food. We tried bison ribs and seven cheese pizza. It was good, maybe not exceptional.

We made a booking to come during happy hour. The place was half full. The ambience in this place was so lovely. We ordered happy hour drinks; a pale ale and the hard root beer. Both drinks were good. We also ordered the elk and kale pizza though it was not on happy hour menu. We wanted to try elk. And the pizza was really tasty. It was slightly saltier than we were used to. Would love the chance to try more drinks but we were limited by the short time we had at Banff.

A friend from Northern Alberta came down in July and we were going to have lunch here but ended up going to Sulphur Mountain, which was beautiful. Today we drove to Banff and had lunch here. We arrived at 1:00 pm and it was very busy, but we managed to get a table right away. Inside, the restaurant looks like the best cottage you've ever been to. A lot of wood, a very big patio outside on the second level. A very nice bar/counter is on this patio, and you can eat while you watch the goings on outside which is fantastic. I had a hot chicken sandwich which was flavourful with a spiced mayo. The side salad was the best I've ever had, with pieces of cheese, kale, a house dressing and candied nuts. I wouldn't say it is expensive but it is in line with other gastro pubs in the area. We will definitely be back.
