Hidden in the Lake of the Woods region on a small back lake there exists patches of berries usually reserved for the discerning palates of black bears. This beer is subtle with a clear fruity nose. Muted blueberry, low bitterness and medium body. Although high in ABV, its finish is smooth and well-balanced.

A clean, crisp, sessionable craft ale. Sultana Gold is naturally carbonated using an old world brewing technique called Kräusening. Named after a legendary local Gold Mine, Sultana contains malted wheat, pilsner and pale malts. Hop flavour is low to moderate. A remarkably tasty Northern brew.

Lakeside Kolsch takes its name from one of Kenora’s first neighbourhoods on famous Lake of the Woods. Spattered with small beaches, boathouses & docks, Lakeside is typical of most marine hamlets built so many years ago. Kenora’s waterways have floated everything from raw lumber & birch canoes to wood launches, steamboats & outboard tillers. Lakeside is brewed using old-world techniques which produces a crisp, clean ale characteristic of a lager. It is a delicate & subtle beer with hints of malt & fruit in its nose.

To survive the six month journey by sea from Britain to her colonies in India in the late 1700s, a beer was developed that was robust enough to endure the trip without spoiling. Loaded with bitter hops and higher in alcohol, both of which helped preserve the beer... India Pale Ale (IPA) was born. Legend has it that giant squids, monstrous whales, sea serpents and multi-arm beasts sent many of the ships filled with barrels of IPA to a watery grave. A true Nautical Disaster.

Dedicated to the larger than life men and women that helped forge the North American landscape. For all the lumberjacks, loggers, fellers and buckers... this beer’s for you. An unexpected bend to an American India Pale Ale, this non-traditional IPA has a depth of body and colour with an enormous floral/citrus hop aroma and a supporting malt profile. Keep on loggin’ on.

It would only make sense for us to dedicate the name of the beer to our brewery and tap room location, a 104-year old firehall in downtown Kenora. A small amount of chocolate malt provides the colour and aroma of this amber coloured ale while the aftertaste is of almond and the finish is dry. English hop varieties are used although the balance is towards the malt.

The Thistles 1907 Stanley Cup win and the 1973 Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce bank robbery. Two landmark (and completely unrelated) events that have put our little town of Kenora on the proverbial “map”. Commemorating the surreal and movie-esque Main Street bank robbery is Lake of the Woods Brewing Company’s small batch release of Dead Man’s Switch New England style IPA – a hazy hop bomb loaded with enough Citra and Amarillo hops to fill a large duffel bag. Unlike the robbery this NEIPA may not shut down the Trans-Canada Highway with its release, however it will leave you gobsmacked feeling like you just walked onto a movie set, and you and Dead Man’s Switch are the stars of the show. Small batch available at the brewery and select bars & restaurants. #makeitlaketime #hopbomb #NEIPA

Nicknamed 'Joe' and 'Blondie'- the Beer With No Name raspberry ginger ale is perfect brew for cheers'N'pals on the dock at camp... or quenching your thirst on date night while binge watching Sergio Leone Spaghetti Westerns. Raspberry and Ginger- often portrayed as outsiders, outlaws in the beer world, anti-heroes, instead imbibe iconic flavour profiles on the ale of sweet, tart, spice and smooth, a perfect balance spoken softy through the ale's malted wheat and barley, raspberry, ginger, wheat- the good, the bad, the ugly? More like all good, no bad, and beauty in the eye of the beholder. The beer with no name coming to a glass near you.

Put there by a man in a factory downtown, Sneaky Peach Pale is a big nose smooth finishing Ale - deliciously delectable and deceivingly drinkable. Did you know? Peaches are symbols of immortality (don't mistake Sneaky for a Geldof, and definitely not ‘and Herb’); and super tasty in beer. Similar to the Mackinaw, Sneaky Peach is akin to ‘having a circus in your mouth’ and a little like being in a pie eating contest - to be experienced. Its peachy-keen!! (fruity/peachy/hoppy). Warning: Sneaky Peach may make you want to movin’ to the country…

The Kenora pulp & paper mill opened in 1922 and produced its last roll of paper on Machine #10 in 2005. For generations grandfathers, fathers, sons & daughters worked side by side on Lake of the Woods, producing some of the finest quality newsprint in the world. In their honor, Papermaker is brewed with a rich, complex caramel maltiness combined with a pronounced yet well rounded bitterness. A classic spiciness is present, but does not linger.

This exceptional Lake of the Woods beer is step-mashed with regional malts to which local wild rice is added into the brew (harvested just down the road on Shoal Lake). Tippy’s unique mash bill gives the beer a distinctive flavour profile; full bodied with copper & nut with mild hop & all Northern Ontario. Wild rice, also known as Manoomin, translates to ‘the good berry’ in Ojibwe, has played a major role in the lives of the Ojibwe people in our region for centuries.

In Spanish, Lago means Lake and Cerveza means, well, Cerveza. Lago – a Mexican style lager – is refreshing and light with that little extra cha-cha-cha you’d expect from a craft beer. Inspired by times spent perched at the beach pool bar under the hot sun with a bucket of cold ones, Lago is perfect for sharing with the senioritas and bro-chachos over a plate of tacos.

Whether it’s the upside down or the other side of town, the Wrong Side of the Tracks can be an alternate dimension or the seedy side of town. A place where dark alleys & palm readers; demogorgons & tree forts; where shadow and substance and d20 all co-exist. Dark brown with copper highlights; tasting of chocolate, coffee & biscuit; Wrong Side has a dominant malt & lactose profile with a medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Enjoy Wrong Side of the Tracks responsibly.... in this realm or another.

There is one thing that all islands have in common – the vibe of ‘island time’… Whether in the Caribbean, the Pacific or on the Lake; there is an unmistakable feeling one gets from setting foot on an island. No matter the time of year, the effort it takes to get there seems to slow down time-space and turns ‘chill’ into a viral attitude everyone is catching. Just the right sour & island fruit mind-meld with sand, relaxation and sun to really tie the room together. So get on a plane, or float your boat, catwalk your sled, or simply step across that bridge – and arrive, with Island Vibes.

A sure-fire way to cure the fever... so get out of the cabin, lose the lodge, get off the island and venture out into civilization for a taste of freedom. Cabin Fever Pre-Prohibition Cream Ale is almost the perfect beer to be brewed around here. Give a hoot, don't pollute! There's nothing quite like pitching a tent by the lake and gathering a few logs to burn in the fire. We find this activity always goes best with a few beers and a few good friends. Happy Camper is brewed with Manitoba honey and finishes with sweet clove and a hint of chocolate. Best enjoyed in the great outdoors. Pairs well with S'mores.

This one will have you saying "I can go for that- Yes can do".

Railways helped build the Americas – and the Porter was a drink of choice popular with transportation workers of Central London as far back as the 1700’s. Rat Portage (now known as Kenora), lying on the Trans Continental Railway was a hub of activity through the early 1900’s. Many a mug was lifted around the region while under rail construction. Hence Railyard Porter – a dark ale made with roasted chocolate malt and pure cocoa. Railyard Porter has a coffee and cocoa bitterness balanced with a deep, malty chocolate draw.

Good food and drinks option at Kenora! We enjoyed the wood fired pizza but also has many options on the menu. Attached to the restaurant there is a shop for swags/giveaways.

We were passing through and decided to stop for lunch. I had a burger and fries. Excellent quality and generous portions. Tess was a bubbly and kind server. She didn't miss a thing. She offered me samples of current beers and was knowledgeable. I chose the watermelon sour. So good! I also tried one with blueberries, sorry, I can't remember what it was. Nonetheless, it was a tough choice. Thank you so much for a great experience Tess!

Stopped in on my travels out west. Was eagerly awaiting my visit as I had had their beer before. Was not disappointed in anyway! My wife and I sampled four different beers, had a great pizza and I had the local walleye fish and chips Highly recommend!
