The George Brew House & Eatery

Urban Renewal is a lager ale style beer originating from Cologne, Germany. Fermented with ale yeast then cold temperature conditioned like a lager. This beer is clean, crisp and balanced golden ale with slight malty sweetness and bready notes. This full bodied ale is balanced by 'Noble' hops.

A traditional German Pilsner with a twist. Mandarina Bavaria hop was used exclusively in the finish of this beer. The result is a crisp, light bodied, well balanced lager with hints of tangerine and citrus.

It was a beautiful warm sunny February 25th on what would have been George Harrison's 78th birthday. With him in spirit we made this bright, hazy, delicious IPA. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel and balanced bitterness. Aroma and flavour notes of fresh honeydew melon, mixed berries and hints of citrus. Dry hopped with Huell Melon, Hallertau Blanc and Mandarina Bavaria.

A traditional Irish red with a North American finish. Pleasant sweet and floral aroma, medium bodies with El dorado hops in the finish.

Golden in colour with a persistent white head. Aromas of sweet fruit, honey and slight pine. Medium bodied, but a very light mouthfeel. This pale ale has very balanced hop flavours of melon and citrus fruits. Incredibly sessionable and very delicious.

Medium bodied, delicately flavoured, malt-accentuated beer is light and sessionable like our 'Urban Renewal' Kolsch.

Bright vibrant red colour with aromas of sweet raspberry. The sour and tart hibiscus flavour is balanced with the sweetness of the raspberry.

Part of our My Hops Don't Lie Series, this brew features the Enigma Hop. Hailing from the hop products breeding program in Australia, Enigma is a high alpha hop with notes of light tropical fruit, red currents, raspberry and pinot gris. With aromas of tropical fruit and stone fruit this hop really shines in the dry hop stage of brewing.

Temperance table beer is a light, but full flavoured golden ale. Not too dry with a light body.

Aroma of roasted malt. Light body, smooth mouthfeel with hints of roasted coffee, roasted barley and slight toast. Very sessionable.

Deep red/light brown in colour with a nice white head. Light aromas of sweet malts. Smooth and creamy with a light mouthfeel. Medium bodied, very balanced with rich creamy malt flavours of toast and brown sugar and a clean finish.

Slight pink hue with a crisp white head. Medium bodied. Pink guava dominates the aroma with slight raspberry notes. Tart on the tongue that leads into a smooth guava taste and a semi-sweet finish.

Part of our My Hops Don't Lie Series, this brew features the El Dorado Hop. El Dorado is a fairly new duel purpose hop with intense flavours and high alpha acid. It is generally used as a bittering hop which lends a balanced bitterness to it's brews. In the dry hop stage it brings forward tropical fruit flavours with aromas of watermelon, pear and stone fruit.

Cloudy pale in appearance with a slight spice and fruity aroma. Slightly sweet bready flavour of the wheat is balanced by the tart citrusy character of the yeast.

A spice beer with fruit this beer has slight sweetness that mellows into spices of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and ginger. Light bodied.

Dark cherry in colour with a nice tan head. Light bodied with the taste of dark chocolate up front that eases into a slightly sweet finish of dark and tart cherry.

Peach in colour with a white head. Aromas of fresh peaches dominate the nose. Medium bodied with a slightly heavy mouthfeel from the lactose addition. The flavour is 'peach creamsicle'; sweet peach up front and closes with a creamy vanilla finish. NOTE: CONTAINS LACTOSE

A golden, light bodied ale with aromas of ginger. A pleasantly sweet ginger taste with no heat. Reminiscent of a ginger ale soda, but with a mule's kick of 6.5% abv!

Smoked chocolate stout. Rich, smooth, medium bodies stout, with a hint of smoke int he finish. The smoke character comes from the use of cherry wood smoked malt in the grist.

A cloudy yellow beer with big aromas of coconut. Flavour is first slightly sweet with coconut and finishes with pineapple.

Our Oatmeal Stout is full bodied and smooth with a toasty, rich malted flavour profile.

This beer is slightly cloudy and straw in colour, with aromas and flavour of fresh key limes, sour upfront with a soft finish and hints of spice.

Dark in colour with a thick white nitro head. Aromas of dark malt and a slight sweetness. Light bodied, and a light smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Flavours of light roast, sweet dark malts, slight caramel, light coffee with cream notes.

Pronounced GOH-zeh, a style of German wheat beer with a hint of coriander and salt character. Bright yellow in colour, medium-light body, with a light aroma of coriander and fruit. The flavour is soft with a slight salt start that finishes with a burst of sweet pineapple.

An "almost" clear wheat based ale, with subtle flavours of spice and fruit. It's delicate flavour and dry finish pairs perfectly with a shot of your favourite citrus juice.

I loved my visit to The George. If you're in downtown Newmarket and want a pint and great meal this is your place. There is a great selection of beer. I enjoyed the Vienna Lager the most, but that isn't to say that all the beers in my flight weren't tasty. I had an open faced brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries and the portions were great. The only minor niggle I would say is that the sandwich was on corn bread and not something more solid. When I would cut the sandwich the bread would just fall apart. But all the food was tasty and I was very satisfied. Service was a great part of The George too. Anastasia was our server and she provided great service and always had a bright smile on her face. All staff I spoke with were also friendly and easy going. There's a good amount of seating inside and some tables outside too if you visit in the summertime. The location is downtown on the main strip so there isn't any parking lot dedicated. You will have to find street parking and walk. It's worth the walk.

Came on a beautiful Sunday and got seated on the patio. Got 2 different flights of beers & ciders. I'd say 6/8 were really good. The other two really just weren't to my liking but always game to try something new! Got pretzels and those beef dip which the waiter said everyone loves, I can see why because it was awesome. Overall great service, and great food and drinks. Patio is nice on Main Street. Will be back. Thanks

Schnitzel platter was excellent including all the sides. Fried Chicken is in the top three I've ever had as was the Mac and cheese - perfectly cheese and not runny. I'm not a potato salad person but yet loved theirs. Gravy was delicious however when it came to taking my fork to stir the gravy it was not liquid like anymore it was clumpy, an indicator that this was a mix. This being stated in spite of the texture not being perfect it was actually quite delicious and wanted more! Was there in a n extremely hot day, and unlike other neighbouring restaurants whose air conditions left the restaurant too warm to eat in, George's was perfectly comfortable. Another key note, their unlimited soft drink service was also excellent. I advised my lovely waitress to keep the iced tea coming as soon as she noticed my glass low and this she did - 4.5 pints of iced tea!! Thank you all for the great experience and I'm coming back for more again!

Very good quality food! I love roasted turkey sandwich and it is a must to try. Our servant, Alana, was nice and helpful!

Really enjoyed the food here - a definite step above regular pub food. The fish n' chips are the best I've had in a very long time, and a definite must to try is the prime rib poutine - they do not skip on ingredients and the taste was excellent!! Quite good pints to pair with the food also.
