2 weeks agoSouth Block was a pleasant surprise! Being from South Carolina, I was excited to try some Carolina-style bbq. While I can't say it's completely authentic (it's not), I can say it's very very tasty! They definitely put their own spin on some of the dishes. We didn't care for the collards (the addition of beans is a bit odd!) but I actually enjoyed the shrimp and grits and even though the mushrooms were unexpected, they were good! I really liked the brisket and my husband liked the apricot pork belly. The beers were really good and there's a huge variety. The atmosphere is awesome (gorgeous space!) and the service was excellent. It is on the pricier side. I will definitely return to try some other meats and sides!

2 weeks agoGreat Beer Selection and Excellent Cocktails While I didn't have the chance to try the food during my visit to South Block BBQ in YYC, I was thoroughly impressed by their extensive beer selection. If you're a fan of cocktails or whiskey, I highly recommend giving them a try - the mixologists here really know their stuff! The ambiance was welcoming, and the service was top-notch. Looking forward to returning for another round soon!

2 months agoI love coming here for lunch or dinner! Amazing food and it's beautiful in here. I highly recommend their appetizers, specifically the Blueberry burnt ends or the deep fried pickles, the wings are always great as well. Everytime we go here with our friends, everyone loves their food and has a good time! The servers are always very friendly and helpful!

a month agoGreat food. Highly recommend the Apricot Pork Belly, especially with the Gold sauce (personally). Four distinct complementary sauces to go with already flavourful, perfectly cooked meat. Thanks, Regina for the excellent service, also!

a month agoYou can't go wrong with anything that we ordered here, it was enough for two adults and maybe a child because we had a little bit of leftovers. Our favourite was the mac n cheese with the brisket and the apricot pork belly. As for drinks, we loved the grapefruit raddler! Took off a star for the environment when the live band started playing because we couldn't hear one anotherso if you are there for live music and don't plan on talking to your guest then it's actually a great environmentbut when you want to have a conversation during your mealmaybe pick another place?
