Battle River Brewery uses high-quality Alberta ingredients to pay homage to new-world beer roots. The name references that it was the beer of choice in Louisville prior to prohibition: it was widely available and often requested. Today it is much harder to find but equally hard for beer lovers to resist. Kentuky Common is a simple pleasure with a wide appeal.

When we told people we were considering making a beer from 100% oats, we generally were met with one simple question..."why in the bejeezus would you try something like that?" Basically it boiled down to the fact that our local crackerjack malt producer decided they would try their hand at malting oats, so we figured "why not?".
