Not everyone knows what they want in an IPA beer, so we created the Sea Buckthorn IPA that has a little something for everyone. The original recipe used Sea Buckthorn berries that were grown in Balzac. They are bright orange in color and tart on the tongue. When you first pour this Ale, through the eyes you will see a straw-like yellow in color. To the nose, you'll breathe in a hint of passionfruit and citrus notes. But more importantly, when you taste it on the tongue you'll gather the ease of Citra hops, the light tangy acidity from the rind of the berry as well as the stem, and a heavy feeling of refresh at the end. Since the berry thrives in all seasons this beer is perfect for summer AND winter.

An Irish Red we are proud to have created with our community. You will sense notes of caramel, and light herbal characteristics from the hops. Slightly sweet with a toasty dry finish. Very true to style and approachable. A great beer for Red and Light beer drinkers alike.

This Blonde Ale is a beautiful compliment to our beer family. Not only does it bring a different group of flavors to your palette but it has a full straw-like color that makes your mouth water just by looking at it. It's crisp, tropical, hazy, and juicy. All things you DEFINITELY want in a patio beer or just on a beautiful summer day. Don't worry it's not how it sounds. A "BITTER" is a British style of ale that varies in color from gold to dark amber. It can have a great variety of strength, flavor, and appearance from dark amber to a golden summer ale. We do this one on a Nitro tap so it goes down smooth. This specific beer is our cornerstone that ignited the spark, that created the fire, to start the Balzac Craft Brewing Company. If you like the lighter flavored dark beer ... you will LOVE this beer.

Welcome to the delicious world of Wheat Ale! This crisp tasting beer has well-balanced citrus flavors with a solid mouthfeel delivered from a strong malt backbone. To the eyes, you are going to see a light golden color that reminds you of sunrise during harvest. Overall this is a really awesome beer that has an effervescent feel to the mouth making it a great post combining or yard mowing drink.

If you are a Lager beer drinker than this is a beer for you. Especially since the Hops taste you notice will be offset by the great malt flavor that follows. When drinking this beer you are going to feel an earthy floral and citrus mix which means that the mouthfeel (the physical response your mouth will get when you drink it) is going to be high. The great news is the ABV in this one is lower which makes it an easy drinking beer. Enjoy!

The Absolute Best. We have designed the tastiest British Brown Ale primarily using malts crafted by Red Shed. This beer has a delicate nuttiness with rich brown sugar notes and a herbal hop character. Its creamy mouthfeel and incredibly smooth finish offer a sensational experience. Destined for greatness, even our own brewery dog approves of this beer!

“Tuxedo” was a black and white Paint roping horse whose heart was as big as his strong frame. He was calm, reliable, and smooth so naturally, we named this Rye Porter after him. As most Rye Porters go, this one is smooth and a fantastic go-to when you’re looking for something reliable to sip on and relax. It pours dark off of the Nitro tap and has a calming cascade that makes your mouth water in anticipation. Enjoy!

It’s dark reddish hue alongside its brown head make it an intergalactic experience. We don’t want to brag, but this beer is out of this world.

This is a beautiful collab we did with our friend at Sunny Cidery. This Cherry Vanilla Cider will dance on your tongue with hints of citrus and a smooth vanilla finish.

An ode to the traditional IPA that would voyage across to India. Our version focuses on the earthy, floral hops, accompanied by a rich malt body. This Amber Ale shows a beautiful sunset color. With a smooth mixture of grains, you have a flavor that engages the tongue immediately and then leaves a sweeter mouth sense after you swallow. This is an Ale as reliable as the horse it's named after.

This is our tribute to a traditional West Coast IPA. Featuring Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook, our IPA offers bright citrus notes alongside a smooth resin finish. In true Balzackian fashion, we made this beer easy drinking, balanced, and most likely, a new brewery favourite. Drink this one responsibly!

A slightly hazy, golden coloured pale ale. This dry-hopped pale ale boasts with notes of citrus and fresh-cut grass. The malt backbone is complimented by the galaxy and cascade hops added during the boil and as a dry hop.

Balzac’s most iconic structure is none other than the Balzac Store. It has been the backdrop for movies, hosted Ford commercials, been a hub for conversations over grain prices, and most of all a central place for the community to congregate. Just like the Balzac Store our Corner Store Kolsch Is best enjoyed fresh and in good company. Influenced by traditional Kölsch flavours, Balzac's take on this style is light, refreshing, and packed with flavour. Using noble hops (hops founded in European countries), pilsner and wheat malt grown on the prairies, our take on this classic has a fun Canadian twist.

This smash is a delicate dance between Alberta two row and El Dorado hops. We combined the perfect amount of mango making it bright on the nose and elegant in flavour. With hints of pineapple, candy, and mango showcased by El Dorado, the malt allows the mango addition to perfectly combine with the hops. So you see, it does take two-row to mango.

This beer was created for the family and friends of Sgt. Andrew Harnett who lost his life in the line of duty on the night of Dec 31, 2020. The logo was created by Sgt. Harnett for the District 5 softball team to use during the Rob Vanderwiel Memorial Softball Tournament. This logo incorporates the "d" and "5" representing the district which Sgt. Harnett served and loved working, both as a Constable and more recently as a Sergeant. The lower part of the logo incorporated the "circle", signifying Saddletown Circle, where the current district 5 office is located. The colours are that of the Toronto Blue Jays, which is Canada's only baseball team, a sport Sgt. Harnett enjoyed watching and having a beer over, with friends. Sgt. Harnett will never be forgotten and will always remain in the hearts of his friends and family. This logo is a small piece that will be worn by many and will be worn knowing it was created by a proud hero.

This is a fun combination of a juicy NEIPA and Witbier. Dry hopped with Mandarina Bavaria and Amarillo, this beer is bright with tangerine, orange peel, and mandarin. The hazy orange colour of this beer makes it look as good as it tastes. In honour of all women, this beer is fun, bright, and ‘quick witted.’ 

Winter is coming...but not so fast. Our revamped white IPA has bright notes of spice, clove, and grapefruit, perfect for the upcoming fall. Its hazy hopped character boasts tangerine, grapefruit, and a delicate orange bitterness. See? Frost warnings aren't that bad after all.

Welcome to summer. We packed this Lemon Raspber-EH beer with flavours of fresh raspberries, zesty lemon, and fruity notes from the saison yeast. Pink in colour, dry, and highly carbonated, this beer gives a whole new meaning to patio sipper. Let's celebrate Canada, eh?!

First time visiting, can say it's worth it! Every brew I tried hot the spot just right, definitely worth trying this place out! Tried a flight.

Always a pleasant atmosphere with excellent beers. We've been bringing our young son here, and we repeatedly feel welcomed by the staff and other customers when we do.

What a great experience! Stew and the team were incredibly warm and friendly, and the brewery had an atmosphere like Cheers. We felt so welcome, especially by Hamish the Westie!Their British style beers are particularly good. Highly recommend making the effort to go see these lovely folks!

A must when visiting Airdrie! The beer is fresh and brewed on site. My favourite is The Backyard Harvest Golden Ale. The owners are very friendly and their dog will great you at the door :)
