3.6 on Untappd.Blood Alley Bitter is an Extra Special Bitter named after a notorious cobblestone laneway in Vancouver’s Gastown district. At 50 IBU’s this beer is slightly higher in bitterness than the average ESB but it is well-balanced by the rich, roasted malt flavours. Stylistically, the malt side is very English, but the hops are all floral US varieties. Brewed with only the best including: 2-row Pilsner malt, Flaked Barley, UK Crystal Malt, and a touch of UK Chocolate Malt. We use Columbus hops in the brew kettle, and dry hop with Cascade and Willamette. 3.5 on Untappd.Märzen, which means “March” in German, is a classic German beer style created before the invention of refrigeration. Back then, brewers weren’t able to brew lagers during the summer months – temperatures were too high for the lager yeast to ferment properly. So in March, brewers would stockpile beer which was cellared in cold, dark caves during the summer. In October – when temperatures had cooled, and it was time to brew again – the remaining beer was pulled from the caves and enjoyed by the towns people in a celebration we now call Oktoberfest. Russell Märzen is copper-coloured lager which rich, toasted malt aroma balanced by the clean bitterness of German Hops and distinct noble hop aroma. 4 months agoI wanted to visit this brewery for a while and yesterday walked all the way from New Westminster to get there. It's a very nice place with music, sports TV and a wide variety of beers. I had a sampler with the Hazy, the West Coast IPA, the ESB and another with lime. They could improve on the aroma intensity on the IPAS, or maybe it's these batches, ot happens. All of them are proof of professional craftsmanship. I really wish craft breweries has ONE beer on special for $5.00. I would spend more time in each. As most Pubs do.

4 months agoLove their tacos and margaritas! Prices are also very reasonable. Staff are great! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good food and drinks in Surrey.

The cozy atmosphere, paired with a fantastic selection of beers, creates a perfect setting for a laid-back evening. The food menu, though not extensive, surprises with its delightful flavors and complements the brews flawlessly. The staff's passion for craft beer and hospitality truly shines through. A small haven for beer enthusiasts and foodies alike - Russell Brewery is a must-visit!
