Co-fermented with ale yeast and lactobacillus plantarum for a clean profile and soft yet lemonade-like sourness. Aged on local hand-screened lavender flowers from Windward Lavender Farm in Chilliwack. Nicely tart with a big lavender aroma and light lavender spiciness in the finish. Drinks like a lavender lemonade and soothes like aromatherapy.

    60 IBU (Robust Bitterness)
Our Affable IPA is generously hopped late in the brewing process with American aroma hops that give it a piney, fruity, floral bouquet without imparting heavy bitterness. This beer is all about the nose - a light body and moderate bitterness allow the finishing and dry hops to shine through with notes of pineapple, grapefruit, and pine.

Made in the spirit of a classic Northern English Brown Ale, where British hops and malts dominate. Notes of breadcrust, toffee, nuts, and coffee give way to a clean, lightly bitter finish.

Robyn, who created our Vienna lager recipe, likes to pair this beer with bratwurst. Sho, another Moody Ales brewer, prefers it with carnitas. Makes sense—this style, originally developed in Vienna in the 1840s, lost popularity in Europe over the nineteenth century but thrived in Mexico with Austrian emigrant brewers. So, as you enjoy our malt-forward yet clean amber lager, remember that from Austria to Mexico to Canada, pork and beer unite us all.

Moody Ales is proud of our homebrewing roots - that's why we regularily serve beers inspired by local homebrew recipes in our tasting room. When local homebrewer Steve Sheldon shared his Lemon Matcha Saison with us, we knew we had to share it with as many beer lovers as we could. Intrepid Matcha Saison is the result of this collaboration. Crisp, refreshing, earthy, spicy, unique - this beer is a celebration of homebrewed creativity.

This super topical IPA tastes like it’s been soaked in a sunset. Intensely juicy passionfruit, mango, and pineapple notes sway in the humid breeze, carrying a heady aroma of sugary guava, lime, and spice. Oats and wheat impart a velvety mouthfeel, perfectly balancing a refined finish.

Hazy pale ale with notes of sun-ripened citrus & sugared peach. This sessionable hazy pale ale is big on juicy aroma and mellow fruitiness. Notes of nectarine, apricot, and sugared peach open up to lucious honeydew melon and papaya. Centennial and Simcoe hops deliver an unassuming bitterness that imparts just enough bite to keep you coming back for another sip.

Caramelly & rich grain flavour with soft herbal hops. Inspired by a classic English-style pale ale, this cask conditioned brew has rich notes of caramel and butterscotch. Maris Otter and Crystal 60 malts fold in layers of freshly baked bread and brûléed sugar. British Imperial Independence yeast imparts a unique fruitiness while Willamette and Amarillo hops bring out bright, citrusy aromas and wonderfully balanced bitterness.

Fruity IPA with jammy tangerine, marmalade & apricot notes. Our take on a West Coast IPA turns the volume up on juicy flavour with fruit-forward hop varieties. A vivacious apricot aroma illuminates layers of jammy tangerine marmalade and ripe peaches. Notes of fragrant wood and dank hops deliver toned-down bitterness for a well-rounded, ever-so-piney finish.

Moody Ales is and can be the only start to port moody beer crawl. Fantastic brewery! Can't say how much I love this place and the people!

Came after sampling the Lavender Sour at Chickpea and being absolutely drawn in. The experience as a whole was disappointing at the taproom: It might have been an off evening due to Halloween festivities/weather, but upon arriving, a few of the tap handles were sold out - Taps that would have made Moody Ales stand out amongst the others that do the usual IPAs and pales. Compared to the other taprooms themselves, Moody felt tight. Closely packed in families with little space or cohesion in the room. I'd love to update my review when I come back to the row and try more beers/when it might be less crazy. There's truly nothing like their Lavender Sour out there.

I visit this brewery regularly, and it's been even better since the new leadership team has come in. The new food menu is fantastic, and their seasonal beer variety is always a winner along Brewery Row. Most recently, we attended Taylor Swift trivia, and it was so well run. It was the first time I've attended one of their trivia nights, and it definitely won't be the last. The host was fantastic, even while having to deal with a table of self proclaimed SFU professors that weren't there for trivia, but made sure to state their claim on a reserved table and be obnoxious and rude to the host and other guests. I digress. Other than the blatant misogyny of the one man in the SFU group, the experience was amazing. Great beer, great staff, great atmosphere, great event. Can't wait to visit again!

I came here specifically for the lobster roll, and it did not disappoint! There were large chunks of lobster and the flavor was amazing. We enjoyed the patio and appreciated that they allow dogs. We also got the rib dinner, which was flavorful but we found the portion a bit small. Definitely coming back for the lobster rolls!
