  •  3.8 on Untappd.
    IPA - American |
    7.1% Alcohol/Vol. |
    71 IBU (Robust Bitterness)
Dry, resinous west coast American ale with hoppy notes of citrus, spice and funk.
Inaugural Batch: Friday, October 30, 2015
  •  3.9 on Untappd.
Pale Ale - New England / Hazy |
    5.5% Alcohol/Vol. |
    35 IBU (Gentle Bitterness)
New England-Style beers are American Pale Ales and IPAs that are most often described as hazy and juicy. The haze is due to the higher protein malts that are used as well as yeasts-like our English house yeast-that do not flocculate as well as the standard American Ale yeasts. This leaves particulates in the beer that give it the noted hazy appearance. Since we believe that filtration removes too much flavour the haze sticks around. This, combined with a light whirlpool hopping and a robust double dry-hop, results in a big tropical fruity/citrusy aroma and taste; hence juicy. It may look a bit like a milkshake and taste a bit like juice-but that's the whole point!
Inaugural Batch: Friday, April 7, 2017
  •  3.7 on Untappd.
    IPA - Session |
    4.4% Alcohol/Vol. |
    26 IBU (Subtle Bitterness)
Blindman River Session Ale is our flagship beer. Featuring an intense dry hop aroma and delicious hop taste with muted bitterness, it finishes dry and leaves us wanting another. It's a beer we can hand to friends knowing they'll dig it. It's a style we keep coming back to, no matter where our tastes may wander.

    Porter - American |

    25 IBU (Subtle Bitterness)
In 1902 a blacksmiths' shop opened in Lacombe. It has not closed its doors since. Having made the tools essential for pioneer life this blacksmiths' shop and its kin were the centerpieces of creativity and survival. The idea of the triphammer has been around since the Zhou Dynasty of 1000BCE and modern versions are still used today, here. There is something powerfully vitalizing about the pair of trip hammers in our shop stretching and shaping hot steel; quietly whispering "create, innovate, invigorate" amongst the smashing of hammers to anvil. The flavours and aromas present in this robust porter harken to the smiths' shop with prominent notes of chocolate, coffee and smoke apparent from first wiff and sip. We feel a true kinship to the lineage of craftspeople who came before us and we brew this beer hoping they and you would appreciate it.

Ah, May Long. For all of us it symbolizes rebirth, renewal, re-invigoration. It’s like we all come together and shake off the cold. Something we definitely feel the need for these days. To celebrate we’re bringing something that we only bring out for really special occasions: our double IPA. Massively double dry-hopped with a strong backbone. Juicy, hazy, supple. Enjoy the changing seasons and the changing times and hopefully, this little ditty.

(Perepllut) - from the Slavic word "rogue" - was the ancient god of water, soil and the fertility of the earth. The early Slavs are believed to have worshipped him with ram's horns filled with mead chanting hymns we'll never hear. Perhaps that is why they considered him the god of abundance and alcohol. We created a beer of abundance in his honour, a barley wine teeming with the products of our land's soil and water and our brewers' fertile minds. This came together in a ménage of barley, oats, and rye that showcase the bounty of our fields and imaginations.

Modern equipment, recipe design, and ingredients. Paired with the time-lost process of long maturations in beautiful air-dried white oak foeders. Showing the balance between the true craftsmanship of 1140 board feet of finger-jointed wood staves and the true science of our brewing lab. Allowing us to reinterpret revered classics without hewing to traditionalist nonsense. Giving us the freedom to strive for a simple truth: “whatever serves the beer best”. Something well executed, well lagered and, well, delicious.

Because it’s our anniversary we hope you’ll indulge us as we go on a journey across the Atlantic and blend two styles of beer that may never have been blended before – the Norwegian Hornindal kveik and the Belgian quadruple. The dark malt flavours of the quad blend well with the fruity esters of the hot (like, very hot) fermenting kveik yeast which should mellow out the higher alcohol. It should be as rich as the history of those two great beer styles and as vast as the ocean that separates them from us.

Great stop on our little road trip. The sauv blanc and raspberry light ale on tap was very refreshing. Nachos didn't disappoint either. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Great Mexican cuisine here. We tried a bunch of their tacos, quesadilla and nachos. The brewary produces more than 20 different freshly and locally brewed beer with the mexican lager being the most selling.

Right up there with Kilter In Winnipeg. Very cool to visit the birthplace of Triphammer Stout. Great location, great staff, the Tacos were top notch too. MAKE THE PILGRAMAGE!

Update : Finally having the experimental convergence and cannot say enough that I stand by my 5 star rating. It's a hot beer but in all the right ways! This brewery is one of my favorites. Just solid and years later the beers hold up. _______________ Up for the week from Denver and have been having blindman beer for years now when we make it up to Calgary. I had no idea where Lacombe was (wife did, she is from stettler and gave me a hard time about it...) but always wanted to come see this place since I loved their beer so much. Made it to Lacombe for the parade and can not say enough good things about the Beer and more importantly the people here. We were told all about their operations and I came out with an even stronger appreciation of the way blindman makes beer. Get some beers to go a take this place home with you, I am so glad I did!
